George Egg

Comedian, cook and Instagram sensation ‘snack hacker’

George is a comedian and a cook known chiefly for his sell-out anarchic theatre shows where he makes food using unconventional appliances and unexpected methods. But with theatre’s closed, the covid lockdowns saw him venture online where he created ‘snack hacker’, an ongoing series of short cookery films demonstrating imaginative recipes and innovative food hacks.

With over 100 episodes online already (and counting) george has amassed tens of millions of views. He’s featured on the ‘Elis James and john robins show’ on bbc5 live, he’s cooked on BBC radio 4’s ‘loose ends’, ‘Steph’s packed lunch’ (channel 4), bake off: an extra slice (channel 4) and presented an episode of BBC r4’s The food programme’, and he’s a weekly guest on ‘craig Charles BBC 6 music show’ where each Monday he presents a snack idea for craig and the listeners to try

George says that ‘snack hacker’ isn’t a show about eating junk food, it’s a show about proving that anyone can cook and that cooking can be as simple as combining two unexpected things to create something that’s so much more than the sum of its parts. It’s about not being afraid to experiment, it’s about taking control, being creative and inventive and taking risks.

Liver Cottage Kitchen

The comedy chefs Hugh Fearn and Lee Whittingstall present a cookery demonstration like no other.

As the mobile kitchen garden moves through the crowds they create ‘fusion food on the move’, blending home grown ingredients with food foraged from the corner shop, the streets and of course the audience.

Their signature dish ‘Pan Fried Pizza Crusts with Medallions of Air Dried Chewing Gum’ has been hailed by the critics as groundbreaking, audacious and chewy.

Blurring the boundaries between ‘traditional’ and ‘contemporary’, ‘urban’ and ‘rural’, ‘fresh’ and ‘best before June 1972’, the Liver Cottage chefs stick to their motto… “Don’t leave anyone wanting more!”
