We understand that this is very disappointing news for everyone involved with the British Cheese Awards. With growing concern among the Bath & West Team, it was felt that they would not be able to deliver the standard of Awards that the exhibitors, judges and public are used to experiencing. Therefore, the most sensible decision was to cancel the Awards for 2021.
Alan Lyons, Head of Shows at the Royal Bath & West Society said:-
“The Team are hugely disappointed to be taking this decision for the second year running. Having to cancel one of the key awards events in the UK is a great shame. We have already started having discussions about next year and are really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to what will be an even bigger and better British Cheese Awards”.
Previous exhibitors will be contacted early next year with details on how to enter the prestigious awards in 2022.
The Team at the Royal Bath & West Society continue to work on the Bath & West Country Festival (27-29 August) and the Dairy Show (6 October).
