An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Royal Bath and West of England Society for two young people to attend the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth Conference 2024! The conference will be held in Edinburgh, Scotland and the Society is excited to announce that applications are now open for two inspiring young people to be awarded a bursary of up to £1000 each by our Charity Committee to attend the conference.

The conference runs from 21st – 26th June 2024 and will offer attendees the chance to reconnect, re-engage and learn from world-class speakers, forge friendships and working relationships with other attendees and take part in several carefully curated sessions. Alongside the conference, the trip will offer the attendees a chance to visit the Royal Highland Show, take a pre-conference tour of the site and attend the CEO & Next Generation Forum Day.

Formed in 1975, the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth Conference has long been a space for forging lasting friendships and vital working relationships. The conference brings an opportunity to be involved in a prestigious event within the agricultural world, and a chance to represent the Royal Bath and West of England Society.

Royal Bath & West Society Chairman, Catherine Look, commented “This is an amazing opportunity to attend a fantastic conference in Edinburgh, go to the Royal Highland Show and meet like-minded people from around the world.  The Society is delighted to support two young people to take part in this biennial event.”

To apply for the bursary, applicants must be under 35, based in the Southwest, have a strong association with the Royal Bath and West of England Society and want to further their education and future with the Society with experience gained on this visit. Applicants have until 1st November 2023 to apply via a written proposal explaining why they meet the criteria which can be found in the bursary leaflet, linked below, to be sent to rachel.freestone@bathandwest.co.uk
