With our fabulous office team being 75% female, International Women’s Day is an important day for us – celebrating all the wonderful women around us both in business and our personal lives. Ahead of the big day, I’ve been asking the team who their women heroes are and why.

Coral – Event Coordinator

My inspiration has to be my Mum, she is such a hard worker but also has a great home life balance, something I think is very important in life.

Jess – Head of Shows

Jacinda Ardern – incredibly strong & empathetic leader quoted as saying ‘One of the criticisms I’ve faced over the years is that I’m not aggressive enough or assertive enough, or maybe somehow, because I’m empathetic, I’m weak. I totally rebel against that. I refuse to believe that you cannot be both compassionate and strong’ –  absolutely love this!

Emma Thompson – incredibly talented actress & human rights advocate.

Maya Angelou – fab poet & civil rights activist.

Toby – Event Operations Coordinator

Princess Diana has to be one for me!

Rosie – Marketing Coordinator

Dolly Parton – Incredible artist, outfits to die for and amazingly charitable.

Lucy – Trade Stand Administrator

Lola the dog!

Charly – Head of Commercial Sales

It may sound cliché but my hero is definitely my mum.

The things that life has thrown at her, especially in the last 3 years, have been incredibly difficult and would have made most people angry, down in the dumps and deflated, but my mum has handled every challenge with grace, positivity and courage. I am in awe of how she has gotten through the things that she has and am proud to call her both my mum and my best friend.

Other than my mum, it has to be Kate Winslet

Not only has she played some fantastic parts and is one of the most beautiful actresses, she is also very inspiring. She made a speech after winning an award a few years ago all about not giving up. I have always looked up to her because of this. She stands for everything I believe a strong woman should and inspires any young woman who has ever been put down to not listen to any of it. Keep going, overcome your fears and keep believing in yourself.

Rachel – PA to Senior Management

I admired and hoped to emulate the qualities of my boss when I was in my late 20s and worked for an American company. She was incredibly generous of spirit with a great sense of humour. She also always had a plate of blueberry muffins to share with us in any meetings!

Zoe – Marketing Executive

My female heroes are my sisters!

My younger sister is a Nurse & was working in an Intensive Care Unit in Bristol during the start of the pandemic. She took it all in her stride, staying completely calm throughout. She is also the “wild” one of the family and is always herself around everyone she meets which I love!

My older sister is currently juggling student life with mum life! I am in total awe of how she is completed her Nursing degree (which she is doing amazing in) whilst also being a busy mum of two! She’s also my ‘go-to’ if I ever need advice on things!

Paul – Front of House Coordinator

Adele – She is authentically herself whilst being an international superstar.
