NEW this Year!

  • Fashion Show - The Show is extremely excited to be putting on a fashion show for the first time!  In support of the Prince's Trust and hosted by ClarksVillage ,20 brands will be showing off their latest collections in style, to inspire both sexes.  Brands involved include ECCO shoes,   Joules clothing,  Autonomy, NEXT, Lee Cooper, Wrangler, GAP, Van Heusen, CK, Savoy Taylors Guild, Jeff Banks, Marks & Spencer, Windsmoor and Oneida.  The Shows will happen 3 times a day and in between you can have a FREE professional make-over courtesy of The Body Shop and Crabtree &  Evelyn. 
  • We are delighted that Fashion icon Jeff Banks is joining us in support of the fashion show and will be at the Show on Thursday 29th May only!  Jeff will be judging the best dressed couple competition which is taking place on the first day of the Show this year.  The couple that wins will be chauffered to Ston Easton Park Hotel and given dinner, bed and breakfast!
  •  Additionally we are thrilled to welcome BBC TV's Homes Under the Hammer star, Martin Roberts on all four days of the show!  Martin is a strong supporter of The Prince's Trust and the Bath & West Show and is delighted to be supporting the Show this year and is giving away the opportunity for 6 individuals to win the chance of spending a days filming with him!  The star will also be selling signed copies of his new book: "teach yourself: Making Money From Property.
  • Calling all Star Wars fans - don't miss this rare opportunity to meet Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca).  This is only his 3rd appearance in the UK in 10 years so make sure you don't miss it!  Peter will be at the show on 28th and 29th.  Don't miss your chance to meet him and get his autograph!
  • TV Celebrity Chef and Author, Clarissa Dickson Wright will be with us for all four days of the show.

  • Chariots of Fire - the famous stunt carriage driving display team.  An original, unique and breathtaking performance  full of excitement and exhilaration.  Watch them jumping through fire and over people.
  • DockDogs - A brand new sport to the UK, in which any owner with dog and ball can participate!  The dog thats jumps the furthest and highest and retrieves their toy the quickest wins!  All breeds welcome so make sure you bring your canine friend and join in!  Come on, join  in - You can register your intention on-line here
  • 4x4 course - Xtreme Off-Road has built a brand new 4x4 course on the Showground.  Don't miss out trying your hand at this Off-road Adventure.  Book your slot with them when you arrive at the Show!   The new course has just been launched - Rusty Goffe, who starred in Star Wars, Harry Potter and the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, opened the new off-road course.  Rusty will be attending the show with fellow Star Wars actor Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) on the first three days of the show.  It is a white knuckle ride with amazing thrills!

  • The SolaRola Adventure - 'The High Sheriff of Somerset will travel down from London to Shepton Mallet with a cavalcade of electric vehicles which derive significant power from solar panels.  Many of those who accompany her also find themselves increasingly dependent on technology to keep them mobile.  The team of drivers will include athletes, such as Sarah Piercy, a West Country girl, winner of the London Wheelchair Marathon in 2000.  There will be participants who are taking part in order to support members of the armed forces who have been injured while in service and others raising funds for injured jockeys and for the valuable rehabilitation provided by riding for the disabled.  Together this diverse group of people will demonstrate that even those with physical limitations can make a significant contribution to the preservation of our environment.'    The enterprise is entirely dependent on voluntary contribution and effort.  All those approached so far have been extremely enthusiastic and encouraging.  Please join in if you can.
  • Eco-Gym is part of the ECO-Zone - a special area within the Bath and West showground dedicated to educating show visitors about sustainable and renewable energy sources, their benefits and the growing role they are playing within local communities.  Click here for more details.
What else you can experience at the Show:
  • Show-jumping, scurry-driving, inter-hunt relay, dog agility, heavy horses, livestock (subject to disease control), poultry, bees & honey, steam engines, falconry and classic cars, the country's very finest food and drink including a huge cheese pavilion, a fantastic variety of tradestands including lots of rural crafts, a superb floral marquee where you can buy plants and get ideas and advice, the beautiful and inspiring Art Show and the interactive Eco-Zone which has a variety of things you can get involved in as well as talking to the experts about becoming more energy efficient whilst saving money! 
  • Don't miss going canoeing on our beautiful lake and taking a ride on the mini railway.  Don't leave the show without having a go at a range of craft and wildlife activities, quizzes and challenges!  Why don't you try and see something you've never experienced before like the sheep shearing or horse shoeing.
  • Family Trail - If you have children between the ages of 5 - 14 make sure you join in the increasingly popular Family Trail.  It will lead you around the Show ensuring you see a huge range of brilliant areas and ensure you and your children don't miss out on any excitement.  Sponsored by Wales & West Utilities.
  • Imagineering is back again!
 Exciting - Action Packed - Mind Blowing - Prizes to be won!
Imagineering returns with scores of fascinating FREE hands-on activities for kids where they can learn how things are designed and made from organisations like Airbus, GE Aviation, Thales, Agusta Westland, Universities and the Navy & Army.  From submarines to aerospace and everything in between, explore the creative possibilities of science, engineering and technology.  Manufacturing: CADCAM, automotive, robotics - in fact, something for EVERYONE!

New organisations, new activities, new location plus the exciting Imagineering Team Challenge throughout each day in the Imagineering Arena.

Please Note: 
Along with the Beef Cattle housed in the Showering Pavilion the Balcony is home to the very popular Fur & Feather section which includes Poultry and one of the largest Egg Shows in the UK. Other species making appearances will be Cavies, Aviary Birds, Tortoises, Fancy Mice.

The rabbit classes this year have been replaced with a feature by Happy Landings Animal Rescue featuring rescue rabbits and health and welfare of one of the countries favourite pets. Also Happy Landings will be bringing Chinchillas and Ferrets.

The show operates in conjunction with Showmobility which has a limited number of wheelchairs and powered scooters available  for a charge of £10 for the day but you need to book them in advance to ensure availability – Showmobility 01278 434 254

Cloakroom facilities and acess ramps to various features on the showground are provided although there are some areas of restricted access for disabled visitors.

Dog Show
The West's leading canine event organized by Taunton Canine Association and sponsored by JAMES WELLBELOVED is the first Open Dog Show in Somerset to have gained PREMIER STATUS where some Best of Breed winners will qualify for CRUFTS Dog Show for 2009.  Make sure you get your entry in to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.  Come along and watch the competitive classes; this canine extravaganza offers everything for dog lovers and is the perfect setting to see your favourite breed of dog being judged from around 1,500 exhibits.
