For the first time in over fifty years the fantastic line up of top quality livestock will be on show for all 4 days; which will give Saturday visitors an insight to the wonderful selection of Cattle, Sheep and Pigs on display from exhibitors across the United Kingdom. The Society would like to take this opportunity to thank the Livestock Exhibitors for their attendance and exhibiting for the fourth day. A new competition this year is Best Presented Cattle Stall, Sheep or Pig pen; this will be judged by a secret judge over the first three days and awarded on the Saturday.
With Beef, Dairy and Dexter classes across the 4 days there will be plenty to see in the Cattle Judging rings. The biggest change this year is the dedication of Wednesday to Young Exhibitors in the form of a new competition entitled “Team Challenge”. This competition is for a team of 3 Dairy or Beef exhibitors between the ages of 12 and 25. One team member will judge a class of 4 animals, the second member will prepare an animal and the third member will show the animal. The members are judged on their judging ability, how they prepare the animal and finally the showmanship skills in the ring.
Also new this year is a Steer class across all the Beef Breeds, culminating in a Steer Championship.
