Wessex Koricancha Sinbad comes from the Tijera family of alpaca breeders whose herd name is Koricancha, located near Sicuani, Peru. Koricancha have been selectively breeding alpacas for three generations and, among many recent awards, won Grand Champion Huacaya at Arequipa in 2003. Sinbad comes from Koricancha's extensive plantel black herd, with both his parents being solid black huacayas. He is a well-grown male with strong correct bone structure and good fibre coverage. His fleece has an extremely good handle matched with excellent density and it exhibits a high frequency crimp throughout the blanket, up into the neck and down the legs, good lustre and very low medulation.
