Every one of our beds is totally unique since the wood used to make it defines the shape and contours.

The wood is air-dried for several months before being slowly kiln-dried for up to 8 weeks until we are satisfied that the moisture content is at the optimum level. We make sure that all the wood is within strict moisture limits before it is used to minimise the risk of splitting when the bed is moved into your home.

Unlike some manufacturers, we prefer to use high quality timber to make the sides and slatted base of all our beds. The slats, which measure 7½" wide and 1½" thick (190mm x 40mm), are much more substantial than you will find on most beds and will not bend under normal conditions providing an excellent support for any mattress. Our beds are built to last with all joints carefully crafted and then pinned with wooden dowels to give strength and durability.

Each bed is waxed to protect and enhance the character of the wood. There are several colour finishes that can be used but, because every piece of wood is different, the final colour may vary slightly.
