Serving producers, growers and businesses in 78 parishes over 250sq. miles.

The Levels and Moors form a unique, flat open landscape of pasture and land which, despite a network of drainage channels called ‘rhynes’, seasonal flooding is a distinctive feature of the landscape.

Somerset Food Links has been awarded European Funding to assist the regeneration of the rural economy in the Levels and Moors.

The project aims to help producers, growers and businesses to:

* Identify ways to add value to existing products.
* Develop new products.
* Secure new markets for these products within local retail, catering and tourism businesses.
* Work collaboratively to strengthen their ability to supply new markets where appropriate.

Throughout the project keen attention will be given to foster an awareness among growers, producers, businesses and the public of the links between the unique landscape of the Levels and Moors and the range of food and products it produces.
