17th Century Stuart Mans Costume
The falling collar is fixed at the neck and falls to the bottom of the
shoulder, over hanging slighlty the split sleeve. The sleeve is split
from shoulder to wrist and has buttons on the front side of the split
and button holes on the back edge and the bottom of the sleve is
finished with a short cuff that the split runs into. This split then
reveals the white bremsilk shirt with a lace frill on the bottom. The
breeches are also made from red silk dupion which have a drawstring
fastening on the waistband, and have a falling lace frill at the bottom
of the leg. This outfit should be worn with a half cape on the
shoulder, a sword sash and sword, an upward bucket topped boot
(probably with a buckle and a spur), and what most would thinkof as a
musketeer style hat, all of which can be provided by us if required and
asked for.
