Fur & Feather
Observe and admire a wide variety of small animals some of which have become quite rare. On Wednesday 29th May the Fancy Pigeon Show will take place. Wednesday and Thursday will see a large selection of poultry, ducks and geese with one of the biggest displays of eggs at any show in the country. All change on Friday and Saturday for chipmunks, rats, rabbits and cavies. There's also a chance to see domestic waterfowl, turkeys and a giant tortoise.
National Rat Show
After a 10 year break the Rat Show, run by the National Fancy Rat Society, returned to the Bath & West Show in 2010.
Rats make great pets as they are intelligent enough to train to do things like agility, plus they are very friendly and interactive. On the Friday there will be an exhibition only and on Saturday an exhibition and show. The show consists of two sections, one for pets and one for varieties. Judges are trained to the highest of standards using a nationally recognised training scheme. Information on the individual variety standards can be found on the NFRS website under the varieties section.
If you wish to enter your rats for either section at the show, you need to contact Phil & Sue Neate on bathandwest@nfrs.org for more information.
